As mentioned last week, and announced last month, IMVU credits has now begun to make changes to our core products. These changes are rolling out in phases so you may not see certain products prices change all at once. Before explaining the actual changes, I’d like to summarize the last message on this topic.

Rational for the changes
IMVU’s core product prices have remained largely unchanged for three years and during this time:

• The world has marched on and IMVU Credits has grown as a business and thus our expenses have changed;
• For whatever reason there are a number of IMVU Credits products which have mis-priced derivation costs;
• Many IMVU products of the same kind have varying price points which doesn’t make sense.

What’s happening?
We are making two fundamental changes to all of IMVU’s core products:

• Based on testing in the summer, all produce will have their prices raised by 10%.
• The majority of our products of the same “type” (ex. Stickers, Emoticons, 3D, etc) will be set to the same uniform price.

These changes will only happen to IMVU core products, meaning the root products which all other products derive from.  There may be other IMVU products which will not have their prices or derivation costs changed, because those products derive from one of the core products.

What does this mean to you?

• For buyers, it means they will see the prices change due to some combination of the uniform price and the 10% increase.
• For creators, it means that you will see your product price change, but your creator profit will NOT change. You will still continue to earn the same amount of credits.
• For IMVU, it means that we’ll be able to increase our revenues a tiny amount, which will help us stay in business; close up pricing exploits; and add a fix to our economy.

Details of the price changes
As previously mentioned all prices are going to see a 10% increase, in addition to any adjustments to make the prices more uniform. Some categories will go up or down, and likewise some individual product prices will go up or down. Where we could we tried to adjust prices to the less than the average of the entire category prior to these changes, so even though some prices have gone up for an individual product, in general for many of the categories the prices have come down on lots of products.

For example PID 115658 (A UI Skin) was priced at 4,000 before, with a derivation price of 1,000. Now it is priced at 500, with a derivation price of 275. Thus it was reduced in price 1,500% and the derivation decrease actually went down by 264%!

The table below lists all of the categories, old price/derivation ranges, and the new uniform prices.
